Assay has no accounts, asks for no email address, and never saves the file you upload. This page explains exactly what that means, and is specific rather than reassuring — you can check every claim on it against what the site actually does.
When you upload a List of Trades export, it is read into memory, converted into trades, measured, and discarded when the request finishes. It is never written to disk, never sent anywhere else, and never logged. Nothing in the file — no price, no entry time, no individual trade — is kept.
So that your report has a permanent link, Assay stores the results of the assay, and only those:
Because the strategy name comes from your filename, whatever you called the file is stored. If that name is something you would rather not have on a page, rename the file before uploading it.
Each report has a random address such as /r/J2cCmYAXuP6p/. It is not indexed, not listed anywhere on the site, and not guessable in practice. But it needs no password, so anyone you give the link to can open it, and so can anyone they pass it on to. Treat a report link as public.
There are no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers and no tracking cookies. The only cookie the site sets is the one Django uses to protect the upload form from cross-site request forgery. It contains no information about you and is not read by anyone else.
Every file a page needs — the stylesheet, the typefaces, the scorecard images — is served by Assay. Your browser contacts no other domain, so no other company learns that you visited, and none of them sees your IP address. There is no CDN, no font service, no embedded widget and no external script anywhere on this site.
This is checkable. Open your browser's network tab on any page here and every request should be to this domain. If you find one that isn't, it is a bug and we want to know.
The web server keeps ordinary access logs — IP address, page requested, time — as every web server does. They are used to keep the site running and are not connected to any report.
Send the report link to hello@assaytrade.com and it will be deleted. No explanation needed. Since nothing identifies you, there is nothing else to remove.
Assay is an analytical tool. It measures the statistical quality of a backtest and nothing more. It does not give financial advice, does not recommend trades, strategies or instruments, does not manage money, and makes no claim about how anything will perform in future. A good grade means the evidence behind a backtest holds together. It does not mean the strategy will make money.
